H2 Green Steel invites you to take part in a online webinar on April 19th.
The last month most political focus has - rightfully - shifted to the Russian war in Ukraine and the humanitarian crisis following the invasion. Climate change is a slower emerging crisis, but action needs to be taken now to mitigate the climate crisis.
This webinar will focus on the well acknowledged need for an ambitious transformation of the European industry to face the climate crisis. This obligation is at the heart of the European Green Deal and the target to reduce the EU greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55 percent by 2030. To enable an immediate and rapid green transition the EU must make sure to not hinder green frontrunners, create a level-playing-field on EU level and ensure a rapid deployment of green electricity across Europe.
The European steel industry which has been perceived as a hard-to-abate sector stands almost 25 percent of Europe’s industrial emissions. The sector has a key role to play in the decarbonization of the European economy. H2 Green Steel is on a mission to undertake the global steel industry’s greatest ever technological shift. Decarbonization is a necessity, we are acting now by eliminating almost all CO₂ emissions from the steel production process. Within the coming five years H2 Green Steel will produce and enable green steel production across Europe in both Northern Sweden and the Iberian Peninsula.
We are proud to announce our keynote speaker Pascal Canfin, Member of the European Parliament, and Chair of the Committee on the Environment, Public health and Food safety (ENVI).
The webinar contains a panel with speakers from different parts of the value-chain of green steel, the renewable electricity company Iberdrola, prospective off-take customer of green steel and investor Marcegaglia and H2 Green Steel producer of green hydrogen and steel.
